Why is this important?
A child’s success is still too dependent on their social background and where they live. Every Child Matters challenges schools and children's centres to remove barriers to learning and achievement, working collaboratively with the community and other partners to ensure that no child is left behind. This has significant implications for how schools, children's centres and their leaders operate. Effective leadership is at the heart of the changes required, and developing leaders to make these changes successfully is at the heart of NCSL’s ECM and Standards strategy.
